What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the fastest growing program in functional training and sports performance. The CrossFit Amesbury programming focuses on functional fitness and the movements we all encounter everyday. This programming is specifically designed to help each and every personaccomplish his or her specific goals. This is accomplished through programming that stimulates the body’s metabolic and cardiovascular system.

Our Team

CrossFit Amesbury is owned and operated by Dennis Monaco and his two sons, Braden and Jared Monaco. 

Athlete Performance 8 Week Summer Program

Summer is an athlete's opportune time to get better so coaches will take notice rather than cross them off the list due to lack of development. Our Summer Strength Program for middle school and high school athletes is a regimented 2 or 3 day training program and give atheltes access to coaches who understand what it takes to play at the next level.

CFA Athlete Program Focus:

Tailored specifically to athletes who are seeking to properly train to supplement their sport throughout the Summer. This program is not for the faint of heart, as we are looking to work with athletes who want to be the best version of themselves. The workout consists of developing sound technique in the following areas:

  • Strength: Joint by joint functional approach & instruction
  • Speed: Acceleration, deceleration, lateral movement, footwork for change of direction
  • Power: Plyometrics, beginning of explosive olympic lifting
  • Metabolic Conditioning: Sleds, sprints, assault bikes, rowing
  • Mobility: Focus on healthy ranges of movement

The program teaches proper basic movement patterns and progresses athletes as they establish a strong foundation to then build upon. This program will have a different strength cycles and athletes must be on time and ready to work throughout the entire training session. Athletes will learn how to take responsibility for their training.

Our coaches at CFA have experience with athletes of all type, ranging from middle school youth to Olympic level athletes. Our focus is making each individual stronger than yesterday but we will also teach athletes the importance of being a good teammate while instilling confidence in their work ethic.

July 2 - August 24: 
Athletes will choose 2x/week or 3x/week option.

2x/week Options:

  • Option 1:  Monday/Wed 8:00 - 9:15am
  • Option 2: Wednesday/Friday 8:00-9:15am

3x/week Training: M/W/F 8:00-9:15am

Make Up Option: Sunday session possible but must schedule and only for special circumstances.

Meet Our Strength Coaches:

Kelli Vossler: 

Kelli Vossler is the Head Coach at CrossFit Amesbury but carries the experience of knowing what it takes to get to the next level. Kelli attended high school at National Sports Academy in Lake Placid, NY where she was a competitive ice hockey player and she went on to captain her team at Utica College. Soon after graduation in 2007, she stepped into the competitive ice hockey world and has spent the last nine years running all aspects involved in the full time coaching world. She has traveled to Europe with teams and coached players ranging from USA National Team members to the learn to skate rookies. All along the way, she was involved with the strength and conditioning component of each program because she knew first hand how important it was when trying to separate the experts from the amateurs. Studying strength and conditioning under many mentors, the most notable practice and philosophy she believes in is that of Mike Boyle. She recently spent the summer working at MBSC in Woburn where she worked with college, high school and middle school athletes. Kelli is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and a USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and brings the energy to every session, getting the job done but making sure athletes have fun while doing.


Casey Fallon:

Casey Fallon, originally from Newburyport, MA, graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association in 2011. While at Roanoke he was an intern at The Parisi Speed School where he developed techniques for coaching running mechanics to young athletes while giving them a fun and engaging workout.  Most recently Casey worked as a personal trainer and strength coach in New York and West Virginia and has found a landing spot at CFA where his knowledge and experience will help grow a stronger tomorrow for each athlete that comes through the doors of CFA.

This is Coach Casey's second summer with CFA and he looks forward to working with local athletes throughout their summer of strength!!

Our objective at CFA is to serve as the stage for our members to continually lead a healthy and strong lifestyle. Our goal of becoming a integral part of the community starts by offering options to our members, which is why we have specialty programs that are sure to fit anyone who is looking to take their fitness to the next level. We are committed to helping our members embrace a lifestyle that we know changes lives. It takes courage and hard work to affect changed, especially within ourselves. Our mission is to welcome you and guide you along your fitness journey.


Geared toward fearless women who are committed to empowering their mind, body and baby through functional fitness. This is a strength metabolic conditioning based program that has been designed to help mom's get back into their fitness routine after childbirth.The consistency varied functional movements taught in class will lay the foundation for living a strong, active life outside the gym. Each class will bring new challenges to conquer within fun, energetic, team atmosphere all the while being surrounded by other women and taught by experienced coaches. Children are WELCOME to accompany parents in strollers or older children can play in our kid's room while class goes on! We just ask you police your child and help us set safety boundaries.

TU/TH @ 11AM & SAT 8AM (8am Sat is BURN bootcamp but babysitter provided)

Teen Strength & Conditioning

This strength & conditioning program is tailored specifically to growing adolescent athletes who are seeking to properly strength train to supplement their sport or to enhance their day to day living. This class will push teens outside their comfort zones & begin to teach athletes the benefits of mental toughness. Not only will this strength program teach proper mechanics & effective ways to gain or maintain a competitive edge, it will instill self confidence & promote the importance of growing up strong! There will be a heavy focus on unilateral movement patterns & intense conditioning. Class is 60 minutes & open to teens 12-17 years old. TU/TH @ 3:00pm
July/August: 10am

Teens Weightlifting:
Barbell focus on proper mechanics & explosive strength! Open to beginners, inquire within!

If you are looking to test your engine and gain lean muscle, our BURN Bootcamp is your one stop shop. Classes are formatted around the the combination of anaerobic conditioning (running, jumping, rowing, biking, etc) and strength training exercises (kettle bell & dumbbell focus) and are a quick fit sweat sesh!

The challenge lies within each individual and is based around mental toughness and kinesthetic awareness - meaning how hard can you push yourself while maintaining proper form. There is no keeping score, just lots of moving and grooving. Weekday classes run 30 minutes of conditionings followed by 15-20 minutes of strength. If you only have 30 minutes, strength is optional and showers are provided! This is a great first step for those who have little time but want to maximize their fitness! First class FREE and no prep course required!

After School kids program

Specific for active children between the ages of 7 and 11 years old. The philosophy of the class is to teach proper and healthy movement within high energy and fun fitness realm.

By consistently having and emphasis on good mechanics, kids in class naturally develop physically literacy and body awareness that can translate into improved sports performance and fewer injuries as they grow.

This class will teach the importance of mechanics, discipline and the benefits of intensity but most of all will serve as the stage for them to succeed upon.  

We have an open enrollment into our After School Program, so new young athletes are welcome to try their first class FREE and if they love it, they are good to join the team!
